KYOTO JAZZ SEXTETの新作は民謡カバー！
2025年に結成10周年を迎えるKYOTO JAZZ SEXTETが12インチを緊急リリース。長野県野沢温泉村に伝わる民謡、”道祖神のうた”をスピリチュアル且つダンサブルなジャズ・アレンジでカバーした。2022年、道祖神祭りの動画配信にも採用され密かに注目を集めたデモ・ヴァージョンを2025年にドラムとベースの新録によって完成。また、野沢温泉村蒸留所のジンを使用し、2025年3月に全国のローソンで発売が開始となった「THE GIN SODA」のCM曲としても大抜擢され、大きな話題を呼んでいる。カップリングは、Spotifyでも100万回以上の再生を記録し、KYOTO JAZZ SEXTETの最大のヒットとなったExtra Freedom。更には、沖野修也のカバーで世界的なアンセムとして知られるStill In Loveを、Navasha DayaとTomoki Sandersをフィーチャーし、新たに録音し直したジャズ・ヴァージョンも収録。KYOTO JAZZ SEXTETの新境地と最強の楽曲が並ぶ至高の一枚。尚、本作は沖野修也がYukari BB(Jazz Sport Kyoto)と田村正樹(DoitJAZZ!)と共に立ち上げた任意団体、KJCC(Kyoto Jazzy Creative Council)からの第一弾リリースとなる。ジャケットの日本語タイトルも沖野修也が自ら筆を取った。

Kyoto Jazz Sextet, who will celebrate their 10th anniversary in 2025, are releasing a 12-inch vinyl of
a folk song from Nozawaonsen village, “Dosojin No Uta” (Songs of Dosojin).In this new version the beautiful folk melody has been given a spiritual jazz arrangement bringing the song an enhanced vibrancy. The original demo version of the song attracted much attention in 2022 when it was used in a video broadcast of the Dosojin Festival and now with fresh drum and bass recordings laid down it is being released as a three track 12-inch!Along with “Dosojin No Uta” the vinyl includes “Extra Freedom “, the biggest hit for Kyoto Jazz Sextet to date with over 1 million plays on Spotify. Also included is a newly re-recorded jazz version of Shuya Okino’s festival anthem “Still In Love” featuring Navasha Daya and Tomoki Sanders. This 12-inch is the first release from KJCC
(Kyoto Jazzy Creative Council) an organization established by Shuya Okino with Yukari BB (Jazz Sport Kyoto) and Masaki Tamura (Do it JAZZ!).You can listen to a snippet of “Dosojin No Uta” right now as it was chosen for the commercial song of “THE GIN SODA” which uses gin from the Nozawaonsenmura distillery.
